with all the bullshit goin on around the world, it's safe to say that mary jane has become a only a blip on federal and state radars. i heard some rumors a months ago about a law passed in dade county or florida that prevents officials from flying heat sensors over the city any more. i could be severely incorrect and perhaps under the influence, but it seemed like it was from a reputable source when i heard about it.

a few months later i began to rethink the scenario and found that there would be no reason for any law concerning heat sensors to be altered. at one point i reasoned, "well maybe the sensors interfere with certain electronics blah blah blah". I looked up whether heat radars can circuit electronics and the results were inconclusive. If anyone's got any light to shed on this feel free to let me know whatsup...

all this shit thinking stemmed from 7 years of habitual smoking of the plant, and observations of my surroundings while keeping my smoke marginally private. maybe it's just the humidity that doesn't allow the acrid odor from the smoke emitted from my lungs from reaching the nasal membranes of officials and snitches of the sort.... or maybe no one really gives a fuck.

i guess only MORE time will be necessary to tell if no one really cares.

percee p's been rhyming since 1979 and dropped a few singles here and there. when he dropped 'Lung Collapsing Lyrics', on what should've been his big break, it established him as one of the best fast rapping emcees. when his expected success didn't come he started working in retail management and dropped a few singles - that are now rare collectors items. it wasn't till the late 90's that percee started getting aggressive about making some money from his craft and started slanging his cd's in front of Fat Beats in new york.... he met a shitload of future emcees while doing that like Aesop Rock, Jedi Mind Tricks, C Rayz Walz, Jurassic 5, etc. he eventually got straight with peanut butter wolf (exec of stones throw records) who signed percee to his label. now he percee is able to drop his debut album "Perseverance".

i first heard of percee when my boy gave me a mixtape of his, "Legendary Status". that tape had a shit load of exclusive freestyles and legendary shit from the rhyme inspector...

Vordul Mega is one half of Cannibal Ox, a group that despite releasing only one album (2002’s essential classic Cold Vein) remains amongst the most heralded rap groups of this millennium. After the titanic success of The Cold Vein, Vordul began work on a solo album, then suspended that record after signing a deal with Nature Sounds for what would become his first solo LP, 2004’s Revolution of Yung Havoks. While his name was now cemented in the annals of underground rap, Vordul was still struggling against the poverty and deprivation, the despair and hopelessness that hang in every corner of the ghetto. A Harlem resident since birth, he still lives and breathes uptown, the source of both his inspiration and his personal struggles.

Of course, Vordul also remained a much sought after collaborator in the underground, appearing on Wu-Tang Meets Indie Culture, Vast Aire’s Look Mom, No Hands and Dueces Wild, Aesop Rock’s Bazooka Tooth, DJ Ese’s Side: Two, among many, many others. Vordul’s association with Backwoodz Studioz goes back to 2003's cult classic Camouflage and has remained steady over the years with Vordul playing a major part in the Reavers super-group as well as releases by the Super Chron Flight Brothers. So it was only natural that they come together and make Megagraphitti a concrete reality; after years of working together and stashing away tracks. Vordul's heartfelt rhymes and stream-of-consciousness flow combined with top-notch production that matches the intensity of its subject matter is the foundation of Megagraphitti.

Although Vordul has never sought out the spotlight, he has also never stopped making music, or working on this album (which has seen many different titles and incarnations over the years) and all the while, Vordul laid down tracks for what would eventually become Megagraphitti (which will be released on 8-19-08). The album became a chronicle of sorts, telling the story of a boy growing into a man inside a ghetto that is determined to dehumanize him; while also spanning and documenting the breadth of an era in the New York underground. The result is an extremely personal record made with the blood, sweat and tears of an artist who has gazed into the abyss and come back to tell the story, as Vordul relays “Megagraphitti is me trying to capture the last six years of my life on record, show where I've been at and where I am trying to go. I was going thru comments on the unkut.com blog and ran across a topic concerning keith murray and redman live shows... haha the read is funny...

Keith Murray, Redman and Jamal did a concert in Waukegan IL back in the mid 90s. There hadn’t beena hip hop show of that caliber in town in a long time so it was a pretty big deal (all the shows go to chicago). I remember I was at work at Target the night before the show and on my walkie talkie I hear all sorts of security calls and I’m like “what the hell is going on”. I walk around and see this three dudes who are on some “new york shit” and then I’m like “whoa” that’s Redman. I had just interviewed early that year so I went up and spoke to him (and let security know they could chill out).

Anyway, ath the show the head security was on some serious b.s.. He was being over aggressive with how he was checking people coming the door, he was yelling at everybody and just trying to exert his “i’m in charge” attitude. I caught him a few time raising his voice to red, keith, and jamal. This went on all night so all those dudes were in bad moods. When they went on stage something went wrong in the front row, I couldn’t see cause I always play the back. Next thing I know Keith Murray drops his mic and swings his mic stand in to the crowd. That starts an all out riot. People are fighting everywhere. Girls are running and screaming. Police come spraying tear gas….it was a mess.

All I remember though is a point thru all the chaos seeing Redman sort of 1/2 way running and fighting his way thru a crowd of people from the police and I swear he is laughing and I’m like, “this dude is crazy”…ha.

We never had another rap concert in waukegan again (with any major artists) or least not for long time. That skating rink closed soon after from a ongoing series of fights.

Red and Keith were supposed to do a concert in Toronto at the old Varsity Arena downtown in the mid nineties too… As it went we were chilling backstage with Red and Kieth - we had brought the bomb weed for them so they was cool with us, next thing you know right before the show the promotor comes back on some BS and tells them he only has half the money up front and they will get the rest after the show - well Red and Kieth flipped, they went out on stage told the fans there owuld be no concert because the promotor was BS and then proceeded to insoght a riot - Red was trashing the lights and DJ equipment on stage, one of the promotors security guys tried to confront him - he was a pretty big dude too, and Red punched him right in the face with the mic! it was bananas… ANyway a riot broke out people were running everywhere and no concert happened… I left with some of my boys but I found out some of the dudes I know had found Redman and Kieth and they had taken them out for a night in the T-Dot - ofcourse they spent nuff cash on weed to keep them happy but it was worth it to hang with Redman and Murray for a nite… I miss those days…

Just days after footage leaked of Young Buck yelling "fuck G-Unit!" during a live show, an audio recording of the Tennessee rapper pleading with 50 Cent over the phone was released.

In the first two parts of the audio recording, which were obtained and posted by Hot 97's Miss Info, a audibly emotional Buck tried to explain that he wasn't similar to previous artists who had left G-Unit. “I done said things and I’m aware of some of the things that I have said but I don't want you to feel like I'm a Game or Smurf or none of them niggas man. Even if you did the worst to me there is nothing I could ever say to you,” said Buck. “I'm that type of nigga. I'm serious. I couldn't even write a negative rhyme in my mind, in my train of thought about you. I understand I got out of check but I don’t know what to do because it seems once a nigga scar you, it’s hard to heal your wound.”

"I don't want you to dismember me from the crew," said Buck. "I've not said nothing out here in the media-other than me putting in the statements of 'I'm my own man creating my own thing,' but I have never dismembered myself from the family."

When asked by 50 Cent as to who came up with the idea for Buck to start Cashville records, Buck admitted, “You gave me the idea and that’s what I explain in all my interviews.”

In the second audio clip, Buck spoke to 50 about his financial problems. "My whole goal is to actually get back what I've paid for you and hopefully I can actually get that shit back-work out the kinks," he continued. "I know [Lloyd] Banks and [Tony] Yayo gotta feel a certain way towards me 'cause of the way shit is and just iron shit out and hopefully get back to the G-Unit record. cuban recipe: tamal en cazuela

one of my favorite fuckin meals EVER! it serves about 4 and takes like an hour to make from scratch.

you need

1 pound boneless pork (i use roasted pork)
2 cloves of garlic
¼ cup oil
1 lemon
1 onion
1 pepper
½ cup tomato sauce
¼ cup dry wine
2 cups ground corn
3 cups water
1 tablespoon salt
¼ tablespoon pepper

from there you:

Cube the meat and season it with garlic and lemon. Stir fry the meat and depending on the amount of fat shed, add enough oil to make a sauce with the onion, the pepper, the tomato and the dry wine. Blend the ground corn with the water. Strain it and add it to the meat in the sauce. Cook for about an hour stirring occasionally to prevent from sticking. Season it with salt and pepper to taste.
